What are the best methods for teeth alignment?

What are the best methods for teeth alignment?Having a great smile helps to boost your confidence level and self-worth. Crooked teeth can affect your smile and bring down your mood, interfering with your overall wellbeing. But you don't have to worry about crooked teeth even if you are older. The following are some of the best methods for teeth alignment:

Traditional metal braces

Today's metal braces are stylish, smaller, and more effective than they were there before. They are more versatile, giving you more options and offering the shortest treatment time. However, they may affect your oral hygiene routine and eating habits.

Clear/ceramic braces

This is another excellent option for teeth alignment. They are made of ceramic material, meaning that they match the color of your teeth. As a result, they are less visible but much more effective. The main drawback of ceramic braces is that they are more expensive than metal brackets though their comfy level is high.

Lingual braces

Lingual braces resemble traditional braces, but they are applied behind the teeth instead of teeth front, where they are likely to be more visible. This means that it is a bit hard for one to notice that you have braces. The only disadvantage is that they are costly, uncomfortable, and take the longest time to align your teeth.

Invisalign

Invisalign are removable clear aligners that properly fit on your teeth like a retainer. They are undetectable since they are clear, and you only have to wear them for at least 22 hours a day, giving you time to remove them while eating or brushing your teeth. Despite the many advantages, Invisalign is expensive.

Dental surgery

This is the most extensive method to correct misaligned teeth. You can only have dental surgery after a recommendation by an oral surgeon or orthodontist, especially if you have a jaw problem. The target patients for dental surgery are people with overbites, crossbites, underbites, or incorrectly positioned jaw.
